TA has raised $48.6 billion in capital since its founding in 1968. The Firm’s investment team is based in Boston, Menlo Park, Austin, London, Mumbai and Hong Kong.

The Challenge

As TA’s business and work force grew, the firm sought to expand and renovate its offices in its Boston headquarters building.  Having had a successful partnership with Tritech on other projects, TA awarded the design/build project to Tritech.  As part of an experienced and familiar design team, Tritech was tasked with not only engineering the AV systems but also integrating them into the highly detailed and intricate design of the overall space.  Nearly all the Planar displays were to be fitted into architectural niches, speakers had to be hidden behind ceiling and wall panels and all wiring was to be concealed with only decorative connection plates visible.  Where hiding the technology wasn’t possible, custom finishes were called for to have it blend into the background as unobtrusively as possible.

Tritech worked very closely with the HVAC systems designers and contractors to ensure that extraneous noise was kept to an absolute minimum.  Extensive testing and analysis of the spaces and components was carried out to make sure they all met the team’s stringent requirements before anything was installed.

The Solutions

The completed spaces are comfortable, highly functional and a compliment to the beauty of the great views of downtown Boston and the surrounding area.  The dual 100” Planar displays in most of the conference rooms give meeting attendees clear views of any shared content as well as other participants in remote locations.  The digital audio systems provide clear, high-quality sound to everyone.  The systems have been tuned to enhance speech while reducing extraneous noise.

The Boardroom features a sophisticated camera tracking system which allows presenters to move about the room while staying on camera.  It also uses an ingenious combination of camera movement and lens zooming to ensure that anyone speaking remains on camera, regardless of how many others are speaking at the same time.
