The Client

Founded in 1937, this nationally recognized general contractor has won numerous awards and accolades for the quality of their work as well as their corporate citizenship. With offices in every major US market, the company’s mission is to build great things for great organizations and seeks to be defined by their quality, integrity and experience. Their recently completed Co I Lab, is a collaborative space that brings together the architecture, engineering and construction community to incubate innovative solutions to today’s complex building challenges.

The Challenge

Enjoying a long history of successful projects as a subcontractor to this General Contractor, TRITECH was the natural choice to be the AV integration partner when the Company decided to upgrade and expand their headquarters building in Virginia.  TRITECH was also selected to provide AV design and integration services for the Co|Lab building.  Each project had its own set of unique challenges but a tight timeline, high visibility spaces and strict attention to detail were common to both.  The HQ project features a Bid Room that is used to organize and track every project the company is pursuing so accuracy and acuity of the displays was critical. The Co|Lab is a building that is built around collaboration so easy to use, high quality collaboration tools were a necessity.

The Solutions

The design teams created spaces that are beautiful to look at and inhabit but that also provide a comfortable environment to work in.  The technology TRITECH installed unobtrusively blends into that environment while providing the information required to conduct business.  The numerous video walls installed into the HQ building are encased into the surrounding millwork while wireless control panels and Barco Clickshare systems allow for simple and wireless connections to displays.

The Co|Lab also utilizes Barco Clickshare systems.  These wireless collaboration tools allow the many presenters that attend conferences to share their data onto the displays.   The demonstration/discovery space contains moveable and fixed displays that can be used in hands-on demonstrations as well as classroom style configurations.  The large multi-purpose room seats over (36) and features (5) 90” displays with an installed sound system and multiple wireless microphones.  System control and configuration can be done from either the installed control panels or the wireless ones, giving presenters great flexibility and mobility.
