AV Field Engineer 

Mid-Atlantic team located in Lanham, Maryland and the New York team located in Garden City, NY

TRITECH Communications, Inc., one of the nation's leading technology integrators, seeks a Field Engineer to join our Mid-Atlantic team located in Lanham, Maryland and also our New York team in Garden City, NY.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design, engineer and operate most types of AV systems and equipment
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems in a senior service support role
  • Create and comprehend advanced system drawings, specifications and technical manuals
  • Program and configure AV equipment such as media control systems (AMX/Crestron/Phillips), DSPs, matrix mixers and switchers, codecs (Tandberg/Polycom)
  • Configure IP addressable devices such as routers, switches, servers
  • Contribute on projects from initial estimating phase through final inspections and commissioning
  • Be willing to work both “in house” and in the field when required
  • Competent with Windows based software such as MS Office and Project
  • Interact with clients in a professional, customer service orientated manner

Note: Potential candidates may be tested on their ability to meet the above listed requirements.

Qualifications

  • 5 years or more of previous employment in an engineering or technical position with an AV integration firm, preferably with design and installation related responsibilities
  • Hold an ICIA certification as a Certified Technology Specialist (CTS, CTS-D) or higher, or a NSCA-EST Level One certification
  • Hold current technical certifications from several major AV equipment manufacturers, such as Crestron, Extron, Clear One, AMX or similar firms
  • Proficient in the use of CAD
  • Possess a college degree in a technology related field (may substitute four more years of AV work experience in lieu of a college degree)
  • Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills

AV Sales Engineer

Primary Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to become a key member of our Mid-Atlantic regional office team serving our Baltimore – Washington DC client base and our New England regional office team based in Boston, MA. The Sales Engineer will:
  • Establish and maintain working relationships with Consultants, Specifiers, General and Specialty Contractors in order to generate and pursue business opportunities
  • Seek out, create and assist with closing new business opportunities with end users in the corporate, commercial and government marketplace
  • Identify and create teaming partnerships with other firms to pursue projects
  • Work towards promoting government GSA contract vehicle sales in order to competitively compete for government procurements
  • Identify and monitor sales leads, and respond to RFPs, RFQs and other solicitation announcements
  • Attend pre-bid meetings, perform site surveys and develop bid proposal responses
  • Develop preliminary system design drawings, construction documents, equipment specifications and cost proposals
  • Coordinate efforts with in house team of estimators, engineers and project managers

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following minimum qualifications:
  • Have 3-5 years proven experience in business development/ technical sales
  • Have a working knowledge of technology based system integration services, with prior experience in AV/Data-Telecom and Security fields highly desirable ( CTS, RCDD or other industry/factory certifications required)
  • Focus on client satisfaction and customer service
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal skills, including basic computer proficiency with MSFT Office, Project, Excel and AutoCad or other drafting software

Audio Visual Field Service Technician

Primary Role
Responsible for providing service/repair support to customers.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot client service requests for AV equipment
  • Interaction with clients, general contractors, electrical contractors, etc
  • Daily field reporting to Service Administrator and or Service Manager
  • Complete service ticket paperwork as specified and hand in completed service tickets to Service Administrator as requested
  • Qualifications:Candidate must have experience installing, integrating, setting up and performing basic programming for commercial, Pro-AV systems. Preventative maintenance and capability to work with facility and low voltage systems drawings and schematics.
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting of all Audio Video installations down to component level
  • Upload Crestron & AMX control programs to control processors. General understanding of control systems, serial protocols
  • Write, fully tweak and upload audio programs for the following audio systems; ClearOne, Polycom, and Biamp.
  • Audio environments, Audio and Video Signal systems, multi-mic installations with voice lift
  • Problem solving and trouble shooting of Video Conferencing systems such as Polycom, Tandberg or Sony, - ISDN and IP based systems
  • Problem solving and trouble shooting of Plasma displays, LCD displays, Projectors, RGBHV, Component Video, Composite & YC Video signals
  • Knowledgeable on computer display systems and signal distribution
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills
  • Must possess a valid Drivers License; have and maintain a safe driving record.
  • Maintain ICIA certification status

Systems Engineer

Primary Role
Accountable for being articulate in the systems provided and supported by Tritech Communications Inc. Responsible for providing pre and post sales support to sales and project management staff on Audio Visual systems. Must have the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities
  • Provide sales and technical staff with technical support on both a pre and post sales basis
  • Ability to create System connections schematics for Audio Visual Systems in a Auto CAD.
  • Ability to create Architectural plans for Audio visual systems and modify architects drawings to incorporate AV systems.
  • Ability to create Equipment lists based on functional needs of clients.
  • Provide high end technical support for customer related service issues
  • Assist sales staff with joint sales calls to customer site. This may require the System Engineer to perform technical presentations and provide support
  • Assist sales and estimating staff by providing support with system design
  • Manage vendor relationships by addressing product updates, product problems, and high end troubleshooting issues
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of current and new technologies that company offers
  • Assist with training internal technical or sales staff on new products
  • Other duties as required or assigned by company management

Accountability
The Systems Engineer will be accountable to the Director of Operations, MARO. Secondary accountability will be to the other management team members, employees and customers of the company.

Qualifications
The Systems Engineer shall possess a two-year electronics degree from an accredited college or university. A minimum of 5 years working experience in the Audio Visual Integration field is required. This person must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work well with other people. Ideal candidate will possess certifications from major vendors as well as have a current CTS certification. CTS-D would be preferred.

Some out of town travel required.
