Position Overview

Work side by side with the Director of Human Resources in implementing all human resource functions for 3 companies with 350 employees.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for checking all health insurance invoices using formatted spreadsheets, making check requests to Accounts Payable and ensuring timely payment
  • Work with various reports to keep the managers informed of their team with regards to Paid Time Off and other pertinent information
  • Prepare all offer, welcome, new hire and termination packets, ensuring all paperwork is completed and processed
  • Preparing or updating employment records related to hiring, transferring, promoting, and terminating employees
  • Explaining human resource policies, procedures, laws, and standards to new and existing employees
  • Administering benefit packets for enrollment and ensuring all paperwork is properly completed and processed
  • Enroll terminated employees in COBRA
  • Assist as needed in all human resource projects

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with some college or technical school course work and a minimum of 3 years job-related experience, preferably in a human resource department; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities


  • Professional, diplomatic, and ethical practice
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Attention to detail in composing, typing, and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Excellent spelling, grammar, and written communication skills
  • Excellent telephone and oral communication skills
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and computer hardware
  • Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well-organized. Must be punctual and reliable
  • Superior customer service skills to deal with both employees and managers
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to demonstrate planning, organizing, implementing and follow-up skills which allow the successful completion of a project by a specific due date
  • Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations
  • Must be able to read and effectively interpret general business documentation
